The book The Magnificent Twelve is an in depth description of the history of the 12 Black junior colleges that existed in the state of Florida from 1949 to 1966. After the publication of this book, the US Congress honored the twelve individuals who opened these junior colleges and the event is entered in the Congressional Record.
